A Santa Rosa woman pleaded not guilty Thursday to embezzling $348,000 from a small north Sonoma County hardware store chain.

Glynis Lewis, 44, is charged with taking the money from Garrett Hardware while she worked as office manager from 2006 to 2012.

With her plea, she denied a count of embezzlement, three counts of receiving stolen property and one count of money laundering carrying more than five years in prison if convicted. A preliminary hearing was set for Sept. 30.

Lewis previously acknowledged the theft in an apology letter she wrote to the store owners when she resigned Oct. 30.

Her lawyer said she disputed the amount and needed more time to review the evidence.
