The weekend's best in football

Before the weekend is over, I wanted to give some credit to our local athletes who excelled on the gridiron in Friday’s games. As always, if we have a name wrong or are missing an athlete who deserves mention, let us know. You can always e-mail us at sports@pressdemocrat.com, or you can post a comment at the end of this blog. If you see your brother, son, boyfriend, or buddy on this list, let them know about it. Also, don’t forget to vote in the poll on pdpreps.com for the weekend’s best performer (there are five athletes for you to consider). Anyway, without further delay:

Ukiah (21-20 win against Santa Rosa)

Gabe Ott scored all three touchdowns for his team, two rushing and one receiving.

Santa Rosa (21-20 loss against Ukiah)

Travis Baker had four carries for 86 yards, including a 69-yard touchdown run.

Chris McCloskey had two catches for 152 yards, and scored touchdown on both receptions, one for 81 yards and the other for 71.

The Santa Rosa offense totaled 397 yards.

Montgomery (63-0 win against Elsie Allen)

James Berthinier had 146 total yards, seven rushes for 101 yards and four catches for 45 more. He caught two touchdown passes and also had a 49-yard rushing touchdown.

Jake Haas had 32 yards rushing, but made the yards count, running for two touchdowns. He also recovered a fumble and ran it in for a score.

Derek Klomhaus completed 9 of 18 passes for 68 yards, with three touchdowns.

Rancho Cotate (41-19 win against Maria Carrillo)

Eduardo Farias continues to impress, kicking two more field goals (34 and 23 yards) and kicking 5-for-5 on PATs.

Cody Allen completed 7 of 15 passes for 176 yards, threw two touchdowns and rushed for another. He also forced a fumble.

Brian Dworkin had 12 rushes for 138 yards and a touchdown.

Sergio Orduna had 14 rushes for 117 yards and a touchdown.

Maria Carrillo (41-19 loss against Rancho Cotate)

Tyler Schieder had 11 rushes for 78 yards and a touchdown.

Healdsburg (29-22 win against Sonoma Valley)

Zach Shippey completed 15 of 25 passes for 283 yards and three touchdowns.

Caleb Rummonds had eight catches for 125 yards and caught a touchdown.

El Molino (21-19 win against Analy)

Senior quarterback Tony DeMarco completed 12 of 19 passes for 171 yards, threw two touchdowns and rushed for another.

Petaluma (21-14 win against Casa Grande)

Sean Sullivan had 14 rushes for 132 yards, including a 77-yard touchdown run.

Casa Grande (21-14 loss to Petaluma)

Kahlil Keys had 23 rushes for 118 yards.

Matt O’Brien had 9 rushes for 117 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 51 yards passing.
