To league champs: Well Done!

In a season that started back in August, just to outlast the competition in your league over the long haul of a season is certainly noteworthy.
The accomplishment is a distant second to winning the North Coast Section title, but it certainly gives you A) a berth in the NCS postseason dance, plus a higher seed; and B) bragging rights over six or seven other schools for another year and for the rest of your life if you happen to be a senior on one of the schools listed above.
The Carrillo boys, defending NCS champions, never really were threatened, but they played to four ties, three in the NBL season. The Pumas still haven’t lost a game heading into Friday night’s regular-season finale at Cardinal Newman.
The Sonoma Valley boys have been consistent all season, winning 9 of 10 SCL matches so far to claim the title.
The Montgomery girls, who are only a tie to Ursuline away from perfection, won the NBL title easily and will enter the postseason as huge favorites to repeat as NCS champions.
And the SCL girls race was the best of all. Went right down to the final game, which ended in a tie, and rightfully so the crown was split right down the middle.
To all five teams: Well done.
