X-rays negative on Casa Grande’s Hegarty

Casa Grande senior defensive back Charlie Hegarty, who was injured during the fourth quarter of Gauchos’ 14-7 loss to Montgomery in the North Coast Section Division II semifinals, was released from Santa Rosa’s Memorial Hospital late Saturday night after X-rays and a CAT scan revealed nothing more serious than a deep bruise of his back and neck.
Hegarty did not lose any feeling in his limbs and remained conscious. He complained of neck pain on the field, which prompted the trip to Memorial as a precaution. The game was delayed for roughly 20 minutes while Hegarty was attended to on the field.
