Montgomery's defense vs. top RBs

There’s no doubt about it, Montgomery’s defense has been brilliant. The Vikings have allowed 10.6 points during their 10-game winning streak, but I was a little surprised when I checked how they fared against the top running backs they faced this season. Here’s a look:
* Grant’s Devontae Butler rushed for 239 yards on 28 carries in a season-opening 42-0 win over Montgomery.
* Casa Grande’s Kahlil Keys rushed for 115 yards on 21 carries in a 21-20 win on Sept. 25. Keys had 76 yards on 15 carries in the rematch on Saturday.
* Maria Carrillo’s Sam Atoe had 124 yards on 18 carries in a 15-14 loss on Nov. 6.
* Clayton Valley’s Vince Buhagiar – who is similar in size to Eureka’s Soma Vainuku at 6-3 and 240 pounds – had 77 yards on 17 carries in a 21-11 loss in the NCS Division II quarterfinals.
