Inaugural SCL-NBL Challenge on MLK Day

Looking for something to do on Martin Luther King Day? The inaugural SCL-NBL Girls’ Challenge will be held Monday at Petaluma High. The five-game schedule will feature some of the top teams in both leagues. The games count in the teams’ regular-season record and a trophy will be presented to the league with the most victories. What team get to keep the trophy? Good question, said Petaluma coach Doug Johnson, who first hatched the idea last year with Montgomery coach Steve Bell. He suggested the league champion could keep the trophy for a year.
Here’s the schedule:

1 p.m. — Analy vs. Elsie Allen
2:30 p.m. — Casa Grande vs. Montgomery
4 p.m. — Sonoma Valley vs, Maria Carrillo
5:30 p.m. — Ursuline vs. Windsor
7 p.m. — Petaluma vs. Santa Rosa
