El Molino’s Roan pulling for Childress, Bevell in NFC title game

El Molino football coach Mike Roan will be rooting for the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday. For some good reasons.
Roan, 37, a former NFL tight end who played at Wisconsin from 1991-94, has ties with two members of the Vikings’ coaching staff.
Minnesota head coach Brad Childress was Wisconsin’s running backs coach and offensive coordinator during Roan’s college career. In addition, Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell was the Badgers’ quarterback during Roan’s junior and senior years.
Bevell and Roan, an all-Big Ten selection, helped lead Wisconsin to a 10-1-1 record in 1993 as the Badgers earned their first trip to the Rose Bowl in 31 years.
By the way, Roan has another reason for rooting for the Vikings, and it’s one any NFL couch potato can relate to: He likes watching Brett Favre play.
