NCS playoff prediction: It started with the Pee Pee Dance

Posted by Staff Writer Eric Branch:
When the streak started, I didn’t even realize it had begun.
My wife and I were sitting on the couch. Our 3-year-old daughter was standing in front of us. She was fidgeting, rocking, gyrating and occasionally falling on the carpet and rolling on her back.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Pee Pee Dance.
My wife asked her if she needed to go potty. And before our daughter responded, I predicted she would blatantly lie and say no. She did just that a split-second later.
We thought nothing of it. This happens 12 times a day.
But then a few days later, I predicted the groundhog would see his shadow.
Still, big deal, right? A 50-50 proposition. We paid no attention.
Then, however, it got a little eerie a week later when I bolted awake in the middle of the night, startling my wife.
“What’s wrong,” she asked.
“I predict the S&P 500 will gain 14.29 points today,” I said.
It did.
Then I picked the East to beat the West 141-139 in the NBA All-Star Game. Bingo. I said Latvia’s Martins Dukurs would win the silver medal in Men’s Skeleton at the Winter Olympics. Got it. I was convinced my sister-in-law would give birth to a 6-pound, 10-¼-ounce baby girl. I’ll be darned.
Finally, as many of you know, I wrote on this blog that No. 5 Pinole Valley would beat No. 1 Montgomery by two points in the North Coast Section Division II semifinals Wednesday. I was as stunned as you were.
Look, I have no idea what’s going on here. But I’m just hoping it continues with the final prediction of the North Coast Section playoffs …

Division VI Finals
No. 1 Rincon Valley Christian 57, No. 7 Potter Valley 37
Comment: The Eagles won by 31 a month ago. We’ve adjusted slightly for the Cinderella factor.
