Large schools
1. Montgomery (6-0): Vikings have won 31 straight regular-season games.
2. Windsor (5-0): Lowe and Tyler each hitting at least .500.
3. Casa Grande (4-3): Gauchos have a win against Rancho Cotate and losses vs. Montgomery and Pinole Valley, the defending NCS Div. II champion.
4. Rancho Cotate (4-2): In 4 starts, Sarris has 3 shutouts and an 0.26 ERA.
5. Ursuline (3-2): MacDonald leading Bears on mound and at plate.

Small schools
1. Clear Lake (7-1): Cardinals went 19-5 and reached the NCS Division IV finals last year.
2. Cloverdale (5-0): Eagles return bulk of lineup from last year’s 16-9 edition.
3. Tomales (5-1): Two-time all-Empire pitcher Nygard is back.
4. Calistoga (4-1): Wildcats have scored 10-plus runs in three games.
5. Rincon Valley Christian (4-1): Eagles have won four straight.
