Cloverdale’s Rowland throws perfect game; extends scoreless streak

Cloverdale’s Robby Rowland tossed a perfect game in a 2-0 win at Clear Lake on Wednesday.
Rowland, a 6-foot-6 senior right-hander who has signed with Oregon, struck out 13 and allowed two balls out of the infield. He threw 71 pitches — 53 for strikes.
Rowland, who is 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA, has thrown 27 scoreless innings this season — allowing four walks, nine hits (all singles) and striking out 49.
Not to jinx Rowland, but he’s about two more dominant starts away from cracking the top 10 on the state’s all-time list for most consecutive scoreless innings. Here’s a look:
