Germans leave no doubts

If you had any doubts about the firepower of the German squad those should be over now.

4-nil over the Aussies leaves little doubt.

Of course, the U.S. kinda manhandled the Aussies in their final tuneup for the tournament so this wasn’t completely unexpected.

What was encouraging to see was the Germans total team play. They were passing the ball with fluidity and moving off the ball like they had been playing together for quite awhile. Very unlike the English squad which wasn’t playing together at all on Saturday vs. the U.S. of A.

Speaking of the U.S., it is now tied for second in Group C after Slovenia beat Algeria, 1-0. How long will that first-place stature last for Slovenia? Probably until it plays it’s next game.

And then there was the 1-0 PK Ghana win over Serbia. Not thrilling, but it was the initial win for an African nation in the tournament.

Monday’s schedule:

– Netherlands vs. Denmark, 4:30 a.m.

– Japan vs. Cameroon, 7 a.m.

– Italy vs. Paraguay, 11:30 a.m.
