NBL baseball: Down to the wire

After Cardinal Newman’s 6-1 win over Montgomery on Friday, the North Bay League baseball race is tight. Again.
For the past three years, at least two teams have shared the NBL title. And the streak could continue this season, if the current standings are any indication.
“This league is going to come down to the last couple of weeks — it does every year,” said Montgomery coach Dean Haskins. “It’s a competitive league and no one is going to go away. You’re going to have to bring it every single game.”
