Oh, yes, soccer is really boring … NOT!

First of all, I’ll make it clear – for no good reason today I was rooting for The Netherlands and Ghana.

No, there was a good reason for the Netherlands – Arjen Robben. He has quickly become one of my favorite players. No only is he talented, but I love his exhuberance and his left foot. Of course, his cast of characters isn’t too shoddy and hopefully now we will see all of them in the finals.

Beating Brazil was no small task, but there is something about the Brazilian cockiness that turns me off. And, as they found out this morning, sometimes that doesn’t equate into wins.

The second game. What is there to say? It was one of the best soccer games ever and the ending probably was the best. I mean, how does it get any better?

Asamoah Gyan, who missed the penalty kick at the end of extra time that would have won the game, will be one of those names that will be etched forever in World Cup history. They will be writing and talking about this one forever in Africa. You only hope that Gyan ultimately does something just as memorable in a positive fashion during his career and this fades away for him.

But will he?
