Casa Grande QB Sherry receives another offer

Casa Grande High quarterback Nick Sherry received a second scholarship offer from a Division I school when Colorado made him an offer today.
San Diego State made the 6-foot-5, 212-pound Sherry a full scholarship offer in March. Sherry also expects to receive offers from Washington and/or Arizona.
Before making a commitment to him, Sherry said both Washington and Arizona are waiting for Chandler (Ariz.) High quarterback Brett Hundley to make his college decision. Hundley, considered one of the nation’s top QB recruits, has narrowed his college choices to Washington, Arizona, UCLA, Oregon and Texas A&M.
Sherry said he expects to make his decision within the next two weeks. An Empire quarterback hasn’t signed with a Division I college out of high school since Cloverdale’s Craig Bergman signed with Arizona in 1985.
“I’d like to get this recruiting stuff done and taken care of so I can just focus on (Casa Grande’s) games,” he said.
As a junior, Sherry completed 163 of 288 passes for 2,413 yards with 24 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He led Casa Grande to an 11-2 record and into the North Coast Section Division II semifinals.
