Montgomery High School has announced its nine inductees for its inaugural Hall of Fame class, a group of seven athletes and two coaches who will be honored in 2011.
The school’s first Hall of Fame class includes: Mel Gray (class of 1967), Tom Fitchie (1969), Steve Tiedeman (1969), Bob Borowicz (1975), Lex Murray (1977), Christina Bell (1993) and Sara Bei (2001). The coaches are Russ Peterich and Marie Sugiyama.
In advance of its inductions, Montgomery will host its inaugural Hall of Fame golf tournament on Friday, Aug. 20 at Bennett Valley Golf Course. The tournament will help raise funds for next year’s induction ceremonies and for a display case that will include memorabilia from Hall of Famers that will be in Montgomery’s gym.
The induction dinner will be held on Sept. 10, 2011 at the Friedman Center.
