Brains and brawn visiting Healdsburg

A unique collection of brains and brawn — that is, the Stanford University wrestling team — is training in Healdsburg this week.
The Cardinal are camping at the home of Healdsburg High assistant coach Wayne Rogers, a tradition Stanford coach Jason Borrelli began a few years ago. Healdsburg alum Porfirio Madrigal is entering his senior season at Stanford.
The Cardinal, whose seven-day visit ends Saturday, typically run and lift weights in the morning and practice in the evenings at Healdsburg High.
After getting out of football practice, a few of the Greyhounds head over to Frost Hall to mix it up with Stanford’s wrestlers — not a bad way to get a head start on the high school wrestling season.
