Cloverdale’s Rowland, Clear Lake’s Richardson honored

Posted by Staff Writer Eric Branch:
Last month, Cloverdale’s Robby Rowland was named the Cal-Hi Sports All-State Division IV Athlete of the Year and Clear Lake’s Ryan Richardson was named a Cal-Hi Sports Division IV “Athlete of Honor.”
Rowland, the Empire’s all-time boys’ scoring leader in basketball, was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the third round of the MLB Draft in June. He is currently pitching for the Missoula Osprey, Arizona’s short-season rookie advanced team.
Richardson was a first-team all-Empire selection in football, basketball and baseball as a senior. He became the first basketball player in Lake County history to have back-to-back 600-point seasons. He was one of nine Division IV boys athletes in the state to be named an athlete of honor.
