Pre-postseason high school large-school rankings for Oct. 31:

BOYS

1. Maria Carrillo (16-0-4) – If the finale, a dismantling of Newman, was any indication then crown the Pumas right now.
2. Sonoma Valley (15-2) – In their last five games, Dragons pitched four shutouts.
3. Analy (13-3-5) – Tigers open the playoffs at home which is to their benefit.
4. Ukiah (9-6-3) – Wildcats are primed and ready for their postseason debut at Analy.
5. Santa Rosa (10-4-2) – Beating Lobos, and a tie with the Wildcats not a bad ending to the regular season.

1. Montgomery (18-0-1) – Vikings will sit back and watch the playoffs until Saturday. That’s what No. 1 seeds get to do.
2. Maria Carrillo (15-2-2) – Pumas are banged up, but you can bet they’ll show up for the playoffs.
3. Casa Grande (13-3-1) – Gauchos get a chance to prove the SCL is worthy.
4. Santa Rosa (12-6-2) – Panthers split their final four games, but don’t let that .500 record fool you.
5. Petaluma (13-4-1) – Trojans are the No. 2 punch of the SCL’s 1-2 punch.
