For what it’s worth….

– Did you know that Montgomery soccer player Nico Spann, arguably the Vikings’ top player this year, is also the kicker on the Montgomery football team?
Nico, who will attend Loyola Marymount in the fall of ’09 and play soccer there, did well on kickoffs and kicked two extra points in the Vikings’ opening day loss to Grant last Friday night.
He didn’t get to try any field goals, but I bet he’d be good from 45 yards out…

– Predictions. OK, OK, here they come. First though, the SRJC and SSU men’s and women’s schedules/results entries are up-to-date and I promise by the end of the week the high school ones will be too.
Whoever made the comment about us being short-handed is right on the money. But you don’t care about that, you just want winners, so here they are for Tuesday:

Men’s games

PREDICT: Cardinal Newman 2, Healdsburg 2
FINAL: Healdsburg 2, Cardinal Newman 1

NOTE: Analy at Windsor, 7 p.m., might turn out to be one of the best games of the season….
