Piner soccer & a Trojan/Gaucho (10/11) prediction

Considering the turmoil at Piner this week, everyone in the soccer community should take note of what the varsity and junior varsity did on Friday.
The Prospectors’ varsity got a goal from Samantha Hopper, assisted by Casey Castaldi, in the first half and held on for a 1-1 tie in double overtime against Ukiah.
And the junior varsity team got a goal from Katie Roberts, but lost 2-1 to the Wildcats.
For two teams that could have have had their focus elsewhere it was an outstanding afternoon of soccer for Piner.
Prospectors and coach Mark Pennewell – Well Done.

Prediction for Saturday’s (10/11) game

Women’s game

This game just doesn’t have a good feel for Petaluma. Casa Grande is on a roll, focused, playing solid soccer, at home, looking for revenge and the Gauchos can see the playoffs up ahead.
And if you go by comparison scores, both teams ventured to Sonoma recently and Petaluma lost, the Gauchos won.
Sorry, Trojans…

PREDICTION: (at) Casa Grande 3, Petaluma 0
FINAL: Casa Grande 6, Petaluma 3
