Pumas vs. Panthers tonight; & Wednesday's (10/22) predictions

Just about all teams improve as the season progresses. Despite their won/loss record, just the fact that they have played together for approximately 20 games, practiced together since mid-August and adapted to the playing styles of their teammates simply will make them a better team.
So, we find out tonight just who has jumped over that hurdle the highest when the Maria Carrillo women’s team travels cross-town to Santa Rosa to play the Panthers.
The game raises the bar significantly for Rosa. Win out the rest of the way and they gain a tie with Montgomery for the North Bay League title. And the Panthers have seemingly come from nowhere to get to this position.
Oh, they did win at Carrillo, 2-1, on Sept. 26, but no one was taking them seriously. And they certainly didn’t factor into the NBL equation after a 4-0 loss at Montgomery on Oct. 3.
But that has changed. The Panthers have jelled by winning four straight, and a win tonight and a victory at Elsie Allen on Friday would put them in a position to tie for the league title.
It would all come down to a game on Oct. 29th at home vs. the Vikings.
But first they have to get past the Pumas (winners of five of their last six games) and that won’t be an easy task.
