Women's semifinal predictions

Semifinal predictions….

Women’s Class 3A games

No. 4 Petaluma (14-4-1) at No. 1 Casa Grande (16-1-0), 7 p.m.

All the SCL coaches are class acts, these two are two of the best.
Honestly, it’s hard to believe that Ralph Montes got the Trojans back to this point in the season. He has taken mediocre talent and made them into a superb team. Call it team chemistry, call it Trojan pride, call it whatever you want but there are a lot of other teams who wish they were in the semifinals right now like Petaluma.
Vinnie Cortezzo and the Gauchos won their first NCS title a year ago when no one expected it and now they are within a win of a return trip to the finals.
And don’t look now, but the Gauchos, whether they win tonight or not, are not finished. Cortezzo is retooling with young players and it looks like he intends to make the NCS title a legitimate goal for years to come.
Tonight, the road for one Petaluma team will end in Petaluma.

PREDICTION: Casa Grande 3, Petaluma 1
Casa Grande 1, Petaluma 0

No. 6 Ursuline (11-6-0) at No. 2 Montgomery (18-3-0), 7 p.m.

Tognetti vs. Solomon.
Gilson vs. McDonald.

Blue vs. Red.
This may well turn out to be the best game of the night.

PREDICTION: Montgomery 2, Ursuline 1.
Montgomery 3, Ursuline 0
