Hail to the Tigers! But it shoulda, coulda been soccer!

OMG, can you believe what just happened at Analy High!!??
The Fighting Tigers won the Sonoma County League championship and then, for the first time in the history of the Sebastopol school, they won the North Coast Section with an incredible victory in overtime.
Now, with the school united behind them and an entire community awaiting the game, the Tigers move on to the NorCals on Tuesday when they will face Burlingame.
This will be a quarterfinal NorCal matchup and two more wins will put the Tigers in position to win a State Championship in Sacramento.
So, no matter what happens next, the Tigers had a chance and they are making the most of it thanks to the CIF which has set up a way to crown a state champion.
Hail to the Tigers!
What?
It’s not soccer!!??
It’s basketball!!??
OMG, I guess the dream will just have to wait….

P.S.

Just in case you’re interested, and I know you are, the CIF Southern California Regional Soccer Championships for boys and girls teams in Div. I, II and III get underway on Tuesday.
Regional semifinals will be played Thursday and the finals are on Saturday. The girls finals will be contested at Downey High, the boys at Warren High.
Oh, how I would love to see our Maria Carrillo boys and our Casa Grande and Sonoma Academy girls teams starting play in the same format for NorCals on Tuesday and eventually earning a shot at a State Championship.
Gosh, I bet some of those SoCal teams even played a game or two in the rain to get this far.
Go Pumas!
Go Gauchos!
Go Coyotes!
