SSU women held scoreless again

Same old story for the Sonoma State women’s soccer team – lots of shots, no goals.

The Seawolves had 16 shots on Sunday, seven of them on frame and none in the back of the net as SSU managed a 0-0 draw with No. 25-ranked UC San Diego.

SSU dropped to 1-2-2, 0-2-2 in the CCAA while UCSD is now 3-2-1 and 1-2-2.

They’ll get a chance to turn that around at 4:30 p.m. Friday when they travel to Turlock to face CSU Stanislaus.

In Sunday’s other match, the SSU men’s team won its third straight contest, posting a 3-0 victory over UCSD.

Scoring for SSU were Kelly Davila, Montgomery High graduate Nico Spann and Ebby Lombardi.

SSU is now 5-1-0, 3-1-0 CCAA while UCSD is 0-3-3 and 0-2-2.

SSU men’s team will also travel to Turlock on Friday for a 7 p.m. game against CSU Stanislaus.
