Maria Carrillo is heading back to the girls’ golf NCS Tournament of Champions after going undefeated in league play.

With a win over Piner on Thursday, the Pumas captured a third consecutive North Bay League title and the automatic bid to the North Coast Section finals set for Nov. 1 at Lone Tree Golf Course, in Antioch.

Ukiah finished second, earning a berth in the NCS Regional Qualifier on Oct. 25 at Sunol Golf Club, where the Wildcats hope to do well enough to reach the NCS finals.

The top three individuals not on those teams also move onto the NCS qualifier. The NBL holds a tournament at Foxtail North Golf Course, in Rohnert Park, on Monday to decide those spots. Play starts at 3 p.m.

A new NCS championship for small schools gives third place Ursuline a chance to continue playing if the Bears apply to a selection committee for a spot. That tournament will be held Oct. 25 at Buckingham Golf & Country Club, in Kelseyville.
