With regular season play winding down, the Sonoma County League girls’ volleyball playoffs are taking shape.

Analy is undefeated and continues to hold the top spot. Petaluma is second by a half game over El Molino and Casa Grande is just behind in fourth.

Both the Tigers and Trojans again are league leaders and positioning themselves for high North Coast Section playoff seedings.
El Molino and Casa Grande have put together their best seasons in several years. The Lions and Gauchos hope a strong showing in the very competitive SCL could lead to success in the NCS playoffs.
“Our goal has been to make playoffs,” said Casa Grande coach Jill Forni. “Every single league match has been a tough one.”
Sonoma Valley would have to win out and hope for teams in front to lose for the Dragons to reach the SCL playoffs.
“It’s been a dogfight. Every team is getting better and better,” said Sonoma Valley coach Mindy Neves.
Last season Petaluma won the NCS Division III title and advanced to the Nor Cal tournament. Analy reached the NCS Division III semifinals. Sonoma Valley and Windsor both won an NCS match.
Today’s SCL matches have Analy at Windsor, Sonoma Valley visiting, and El Molino going to Casa Grande. All matches start at 6:30 p.m.
North Bay League matches today: Maria Carrillo is at Santa Rosa; Montgomery visits Elsie Allen; Ursuline goes to Ukiah; Rancho Cotate is at Piner. Match times are 6:30 p.m.
