Friday Football Previews: SCL

El Molino (4-3, 1-2) at Sonoma Valley (1-5, 0-2)
7:30 p.m.
Last week: El Molino downed Analy, 24-17 (overtime). Sonoma lost to Healdsburg, 39-7.

Notable: The big questions here are will El Mo have a letdown after its upset victory over Analy in the Apple Bowl? Also, will Lions’ star quarterback Mike Pierson be available after suffering a head injury following a second-quarter sack last Friday? … If Pierson doesn’t play, John Carlson will have an opportunity to be the hero again. Against Analy, the junior threw a touchdown pass to Chet Lambert in overtime. Then, when Analy got the ball to try and force a second OT, Carlson intercepted a Jake Zanutto pass to clinch the victory … Pierson has 13 TD passes on the season, six of those to Joe Douglass and four to Lambert … Tommy Krausmann shoulders the rushing load for El Mo. He’s carried the ball nearly five times more often than any of his teammates … Sonoma has lost four straight and has had trouble scoring. During the skid, the Dragons have been averaging fewer than 10 points per game … Junior quarterback Sam Morgan has had his problems, throwing eight interceptions and losing five fumbles … Sean Daly and Eric Clouse have been solid on defense for Sonoma.
Number to note: 7 — The combined number of sacks for El Molino’s Aren Vierra and Jared Garner.
