Santa Rosa JC is assured of having three wrestlers come home from the CCAA State Tournament with medals and Colin Hart is still in contention to get gold.

Hart, an Analy High grad, prevailed in his two opening-round matches on Friday. If he wins his two matches today, he will be the state 197-pound champion.

The other two Bear Cubs that advanced — Shane Kenihan (141 pounds) and Wesley Young (149) — won one and lost one on Friday which means they’re assured of finishing in the top eight, but can’t finish first. The top eight in each weight class will receive medals following today’s competition at Victor Valley College in Victorville.

Santa Rosa had five wrestlers eliminated Friday — Isaac Taz Pilgrim (125), Taylor Christiansen (133), Von Borges (157), Cody Bagley (165), Eric Hesterberg (285).
