Wiley out as Sonoma Valley girls soccer coach

Pamela Wiley, who has coached the Sonoma Valley High Dragons girls soccer team for the past seven seasons, will not be returning in the fall.

By virtue of a district ruling that any teacher at the school has first option at a coaching position, she is being replaced reportedly by SV Spanish teacher Julio Leon.

Wiley compiled an overall record of 69-62-6 with the Dragons and her teams were 61-39-3 over the past five seasons.

The Dragons also made the North Coast Season postseason tournament the past five yaers.

They also won the preseason Arcata Tournament four years in a row before finishing at runnersup to Analy this past fall.

Wiley, a Richmond native and Oregon State graduate, will probably continue to coach at the Div. III club level in Sonoma.
