SCL girls semifinal: Analy cruises past Petaluma, 53-35

Analy blitzed Petaluma in the first quarter, opening a 24-5 lead en route to a dominating 53-35 win in the semifinals of the SCL girls postseason tournament on Thursday night at Analy.

The Tigers, who have won 20 consecutive games, shot 64 percent in the first quarter, using a full-court man-to-man defense to cause turnovers that they turned into fast-break layups.

Katy Lowry led Analy with 22 points, including five 3-pointers, and 10 rebounds. Kelley Benck added 10 points and Molly Schuster had eight points and 10 rebounds.

Jordan Shyne led Petaluma with 14 points.

The Tigers will play Casa Grande — the Gauchos defeated Sonoma Valley 35-34 on Thursday night — in the SCL championship game at Santa Rosa Junior College on Saturday at 6 p.m.
