Marin Academy girls out of NCS tournament

Just in case you were wondering…

Yes, Marin Academy is out of the North Coast Section girls Div. V tournament before the tournament even started.

Slated to play at Sonoma Academy in a first-round matchup on Wednesday night, Marin Academy was pulled from the tournament on Tuesday by the NCS.

The NCS explained it this way in a faxed press release Tuesday morning:
It has been discovered that the Marin Academy High School Division V girls’ did not qualify for the NCS Division 5 Girls Championship, therefore have been pulled from the tournament. Marin Academy did not report their final loss to Convent of the Sacred Heart, which is the final game that made them ineligible for competition in the championships. Marin Academy did not meet the criteria of having a winning record in one of the three categories: overall record, league record or division record.”

As for the No. 4 Sonoma Academy Coyotes (23-4), they now play No. 13 seed Bentley (11-14) at Sonoma Academy at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
