In a tight three-girl race that also included Maria Carrillo’s Sara Tosti and Casa Grande’s Noelle Laprevotte, what separated Le Cave is that she didn’t have as many complementary pieces around her.

“She’s one of the most feared players in the Empire,” Windsor coach Junior Aranda said. “Casa and Montgomery double- and triple-marked her all game. They wouldn’t have needed to do that if she wasn’t the best player.”

A prolific scorer who netted 36 goals in 2010, Le Cave also assisted on many goals and rarely left the field as a senior captain, helping the Jaguars to an 11-5-3 record.

A star student with a GPA close to 5.0, she’s headed to Pepperdine on an academic scholarship. Sonoma County League opponents aren’t exactly broken up to see Le Cave go.

“The only reason we didn’t beat Windsor is Amanda,” Analy girls’ coach Joseph Heil said. “She is not to be denied.”
