PETALUMA — Windsor held off a fourth-quarter rally by Casa Grande to win 63-61 Saturday and remain unbeaten in the Sonoma County League.
Tanner Giddings had 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead Windsor, and Vince Valdes came off the bench to score 16 points.
Christian McAlvain scored 10 of his 14 points in the first half for Windsor and the Jaguars led 32-28 at intermission.
Windsor started the second half with an 8-0 run and built a 15-point lead, 48-33, going into the fourth quarter.
Led by Chase Stafford, who scored a game-high 25 points, Casa Grande stormed back in the final frame. “They hit some big shots. They kept playing,” said Windsor coach Steve Kramer.
Sophomore Cetrick Yeaney, who had 14 points for Casa Grande, hit a 3-pointer and was fouled with less than a minute to play. He hit the free throw to pull the Gauchos within four.
Casa Grande got a defensive stop and got the ball back with eight seconds left. But the Gauchos ran out of time and could manage only a layup by Stafford to pull within two points as the buzzer sounded.
