Healdsburg Seeks Varsity Football Coach

Posted By Press Democrat Staff Writer Michael Coit:

Replacing coaching great Tom Kirkpatrick won’t be easy as Healdsburg High officials seek a football coach to continue the Greyhounds winning ways.

Healdsburg wants a coach with experience and who knows the town’s pride in the Greyhounds football team.

In 19 seasons under Kirkpatrick the Greyhounds always had a winning record, including two North Coast Section championships. Kirkpatrick resigned this month after a final campaign with Healdsburg reaching the North Coast Section Division 4 semifinals.

Always a contender for the Sonoma County League title, Healdsburg no longer must contend with large school powers Windsor and Casa Grande. The two schools will move to the North Bay League next school year.

Applicants for the Healdsburg varsity football coaching position must contact athletic director Jenean Bingham: jbingham@husd.com or 696-5892.
