Four Bear Cub soccer players move on to four-year schools

Four Santa Rosa JC men’s soccer players are moving on to play soccer at the collegiate level.

Co-captain Christian Reyes, who starred at Santa Rosa High before playing at SRJC, will attend Cal State Los Angeles on a 75 percent scholarship. He plans to study communications.

Defender Kevin McKeon, a Rancho Cotate graduate, will attend Mount Ida in Newton, Mass., near Boston. Co-captains Denis Power of San Francisco and Spencer Selek of El Cerrito will attend Emery-Riddle Aeronautical in Prescott, Ariz., and San Francisco State, respectively.

Bear Cubs men’s coach Martin Kinahan, currently in his 14th year with the program, said the JC's men's season is starting up soon, with conditioning drills followed by full practices. Students interested in playing soccer at a high level can contact Kinahan at 524-1814 or mkinahan@santarosa.edu.
