SR United U15 Freeze one win away from girls national tournament

Taylor Ziemer scored three goals Saturday to lead the Santa Rosa United Under-15 girls to a 6-1 win over Blue Valley FC of Overland Park, Kan., in the Elite Clubs National League playoff tournament in Aurora, Colo.

The Freeze play the No. 1-ranked Dallas Sting today at 3 p.m. The winner will advance to the national championship tournament in Richmond, Va., July 10-15.

Chloe Colbert, Brooke Dunbar and Miranda Gonzalez also scored goals for Santa Rosa in a game that was delayed for an hour under threat of severe thunderstorms.

Sydney Rickert and Megan Moore had assists for the Freeze.
