Conley qualifies for 5,000 meters final


Santa Rosa runner Kim Conley ran her 5,000 meters heat in 15 minutes, 9.57 seconds Tuesday night to qualify for the World Championships 5,000 final in Moscow. Conley ran her personal best time in the event.

The top qualifying time was turned in by Ethiopia’s Almaz Ayana in 14:25.86.

Conley finished fifth in her heat to qualify for the finals. Ethiopia’s Meseret Defar won the heat in 14:26.90.
