Sonoma Academy is seeking a coach to run the school’s baseball program with the departure of Justin Herrguth to Healdsburg high.
Following a successful second season with a varsity baseball program, Sonoma Academy is looking for candidates who have experience coaching high school teams or prep age teams. College level playing experience is a plus.
The Coyotes return a majority of the team that last season reached the North Coast Section Division 5 playoffs after finishing second in NCL II league play.
Losing the coach who helped establish the Sonoma Academy program is difficult, but not surprising, said athletic director Chris Ziemer.
Herrguth was an All-Empire standout at Healdsburg high who then played at Santa Rosa Junior College and later Western Kentucky.
Coaches interestedint he Sonoma Academy opening can contact Ziemer: chris.ziemer@sonomaacademy.org or 636-2468. Interviews will begin September 15th.
