Former Petaluma star to hold softball skills camp

Former Petaluma star and two-time NCAA champion Sam Banister will conduct an intensive softball skills camp on Sept. 21-22 at Wiseman Park in Petaluma.

A two-time NCS champion, Empire Athlete of the Year and star for the University of Arizona, Banister will lead 11 hours of instruction in hitting, infield play, outfield play, catching, bunting, base running and throwing. Campers from the fourth through 12th grades will be separated by both position and grade.

Banister will be assisted by Jenae Leles, former Arizona teammate amd two-time All Pac-10 first team, Mikel Candrea, former assistant coach at Arizona and Sadie Dolcini, two-time NCS champion at Petaluma High School.
