SRJC football beats Diablo Valley, 34-20

The SRJC football team cruised to a 34-20 victory against Diablo Valley College in its home opener at Bailey Field on Friday night.

The Bear Cubs (2-0) started quickly, with K’Lan Anderson dashing 63 yards to put SRJC up 7-0 seconds into the first quarter.

Later in the first, David Sowards found Andre Davis for a 50-yard touchdown pass to give SRJC two scores in the first stanza.

DVC led at the half 20-14, but the Bear Cubs battled back, pulling back in front for good with a 1-yard touchdown run from Anderson and a Spencer Morrow 10-yard run. Anderson finished with 118 yards and two touchdowns. Davis caught four passed for 151 yards and a touchdown.

Last night’s Bear Cubs victory was broadcast on 89.1 FM, making it the first radio broadcast of SRJC football for the in 25 years.

SRJC plays next Friday against Sacramento City College at Sacramento State’s Hughes Stadium at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast on 89.1 FM.
