Empire girls prep basketball teams had good showings at a premier holiday tournament as squads tune up for league play.
Santa Rosa, Windsor and St. Helena each had winning records at the West Coast Jamboree, held in the East Bay. Nine schools from the Empire competed in the tournament featuring 100 teams from across the state and West Coast.
Playing in one of the toughest brackets, Santa Rosa won the consolation title in the Diamond Division. Santa Rosa had big wins over Bay Area power Deer Valley and Brea Olinda, from Southern California. Katie Daly and Morgan Bertsch were named to the all-tournament team.
Windsor reached the championship game in the Coral Division, falling to Northern California power Sheldon, from Sacramento. A pair of Jaguars, Jessica Barbosa and Kerianne Noonan, made the all-tournament team St. Helena won the Onyx Division, taking all three games in the small school bracket.
Other notable results were Casa Grande’s fourth place finish in the Emerald Division and Willits reaching the consolation final of the Jade Division.
