Talented mock TV newsman Steven Colbert is sorely missed on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show." His hilarious "This Week in Religion" segment was as much a "Daily" touchstone as Lewis Black's weekly rant.

But he's back, and his new series, "The Colbert Report," debuts at 11:30 p.m. Monday on Comedy Central. Colbert, who claims the model for his stiff-necked reporter is NBC's Stone Phillips, again pokes fun at the punditry on this new series. It follows - appropriately enough - "The Daily Show." Hard to beat that for a lead-in.
