Basketball: Mora, Jessup lead teams to victories

Cloverdale’s Amy Mora scored 20 points Saturday night to lead the West girls to a 65-43 win over the East in the Redwood Empire All-Star Basketball Game at Rincon Valley Christian. The NHL released information on the home openers for each team Saturday with the full schedule expected to come Sunday at 1 p.m.

Willits’ Cole Jessup poured in 18 points for the West as his boys team beat the East 86-75.

The West girls got 11 points each from Jaqueline Murphy, from St. Vincent, and Clear Lake’s Kelci Reynolds. Lower Lake’s Zobee Miller led the East with 15. Middletown’s Ashley Hart scored 6.

Willits’ John Montez added 18 in the West boys’ win. Laytonville’s Corey James netted 10. The East got 17 from Calistoga’s Joe Fons. Rincon Valley’s Dale Watkins had 14 for the East and Technology High’s Evan Pepper added 9.
