LARGE SCHOOLS

1. Rancho Cotate (6-3): Cougars can clinch NBL title with home win Friday vs. Santa Rosa

2. Analy (8-1): Tigers have one more opponent — at Petaluma on Friday — to complete unbeaten SCL year.

3. Cardinal Newman (6-3): Cardinals need help for an NBL title but playoffs will be a new season.

4. Windsor (7-2): Two-game slide eliminated Jaguars in league race but a win vs. Newman would be big.

5. (tie) Petaluma (7-2): Only blemish on Trojans’ league mark was a September loss to Sonoma Valley.

5. (tie) Maria Carrillo (5-4): Pumas have wins against NBL leaders Rancho Cotate and Windsor.

Others receiving votes: Montgomery

SMALL SCHOOLS

1. Fort Bragg (7-2): Timberwolves control NCL I after back-to-back wins vs. St. Helena, Cloverdale.

2. St. Helena (8-1): Saints have given up more than 21 points only once — in 35-20 loss at Fort Bragg.

3. Cloverdale (6-3): Finale on Friday at home vs. St. Helena very important for playoff seeding.

4. Middletown (6-3): Mustangs bounced back with third shutout of the season, 42-0 at Clear Lake.

5. St. Vincent (5-4): Rematch with Tomales on Saturday can win league, complete rally from 0-4 start.

Isn’t it true that if both Rancho Cotate and Cardinal Newman win this week they are co-champions? Also, it is my understanding that if this happens, Cardinal Newman holds the “tie-breaker,” making them the NBL Champions.

FB proved over and over again the last half of the season to be really good. These guys are good, tough, and can score at any time. Congratulations to all FB timberwolves.
