Maria Carrillo’s Piper Brockley reaches 200 IM finals at state swim championships

Maria Carrillo junior Piper Brockley advanced to the first-ever state swim championship’s final race in the girls 200-yard individual medley event Friday.

Brockley finished sixth out of 23 girls competing in the 200 IM at Clovis West High School in Clovis, site of California’s inaugural high school swimming and diving championship meet.

The top eight finishers from preliminary races advance to today’s finals.

Brockley finished out of the running in her other event Friday, the 100-yard breaststroke. She came in 13th out of 29 swimmers.

The Analy High School 200-yard medley girls relay squad finished 22nd out of 36 teams Friday.
