Top senior boys basketball players from around the area will be showcased Saturday when the third annual Redwood Empire All-Star Game is played at Rincon Valley Christian High School.
Tip-off is 7 p.m. Those participating played in NCL I, NCL II, NCL III or the Small School Bridge League.
Archbishop Hanna’s Armani Perry, the reigning All-Empire Player of the Year for small schools, is among 20 players invited to participate.
Perry was at his best in the North Coast Section Division 6 title game when he scored 40 points against St. Bernard’s. Joining him on the court tonight will be teammates Larry Michel and Jhe’neard Hemmingway.
Mendocino also has three players signed up for the game: Scott Duncan, Isiah Graham and Noah Thomas.
Other participants include: Elvis Gaxiola (Anderson Valley), Erik Valencia (Calistoga), John McMillan (Cloverdale), Brandon Huber (Kelseyville), James Clark (Lower Lake), Dustin Martin (Lower Lake), Cody Chorjel (Middletown), Joe Lin (RVC), Daniel Maples (RVC), Alex Padilla (Roseland Prep), Sean Kneeland (Sonoma Academy), Chris Saladin (St. Helena), Nathan Gerhardt (Technology) and Joel Gutierrez (Tomales).
McMillan and Lin were All-Empire first-team selections.
Coaching will be Darren Nelson of RVC and Scott McKeon from Technology.
The players will practice Saturday afternoon and a draft will be conducted beforehand.
Unlike high school games, the teams will play two 20-minute halves.
