The Analy Tigers tightened the Sonoma County League softball standings on Tuesday afternoon by defeating the visiting Petaluma Trojans 8-3, effectively tying the two squads going into the final week of the season.

Analy (10-9-1, 7-1) has played two fewer SCL games then Petaluma (12-8-1, 8-2) so it is up one game in the loss column. The Tigers have four remaining SCL games and the Trojans have two remaining league games and one non-league game.

“They finally started playing ball,” Analy coach Nick Houtz said of his team. “We have our destiny in our own hands - that is for sure.”

Analy's Emily Dryer got the victory, going seven innings, striking out five and surrendering three earned runs on 11 hits.

“Emily stepped up; she is a gamer,” Houtz said. “Her pitches were working and our defense was good.”

Petaluma starter Ava Chabot took the loss, going one inning and giving up two earned runs.

Chloe Hadrich led the Tigers at the plate, going 3-for-3 with an RBI.

“We haven't strung hits together this season. That has been our nemesis all year,” Houtz said. “This was a big win - it was about time.”

Piner 7, El Molino 4

The visiting Prospectors rallied from a 4-2 deficit after three innings to score five runs in the final three innings.

“The bottom of our lineup got a couple of hits when we needed them,” Piner coach Darren Kille said. “When the bottom of the order got on, the top of the order drove them in.”

It was another stellar pitching and hitting performance for Piner's Hana Suppus, who earned the complete-game win and gave up no earned runs. Suppus also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and three RBIs.

“Hana pitched really well today,” Kille said. “She had six strikeouts and her drop-ball was working really well.”

The Lions' Erica Olson threw a complete game in the loss.

Jonelle Bolduc went 2-for-4 and scored three runs for Piner.

Piner (8-9, 5-5) remains in fourth place in the SCL with two league games to play. El Molino (5-14, 2-6) remains in fifth place.

Healdsburg 18, Elsie Allen 3

Freshman Greyhounds pitcher Jasmyn Harrison pitched a complete-game one-hitter to lead Healdsburg to the easy victory against the visiting Lobos.

“This was the best game Jasmyn has pitched all year,” Healdsburg coach Rachelle Sanders said. “She didn't walk as many batters tonight.”

Elsie Allen burned itself with porous defense, committing five errors and giving up a litany of unearned runs. The Greyhounds did not commit an error.

Keely Bullock led the Healdsburg offensive attack with a three-run triple.

With four games to play, the sixth-place Greyhounds (4-14, 2-6) are one game behind El Molino in the SCL standings for fifth place.

The Lobos (0-9, 0-9) are in last place, still searching for their first win of the season.
