Maryland's national player of the year candidate got the best of Baylor and its big star.

Crystal Langhorne matched a career-high with 34 points and added 15 rebounds, leading No.2 seed Maryland over the third-seeded Lady Bears to eliminate Sophia Young and the defending national champions from the NCAA tournament.

The Terrapins (31-4) advance to meet Utah in Monday's Albuquerque Region final. Maryland is one game from the program's first Final Four appearance since 1989.

Langhorne, a 6-foot-2 sophomore, outdueled Young from the opening tipoff, and the Bears (26-7) couldn't survive one of their worst shooting nights of the season. Baylor shot just 33 percent (25-of-74).

UTAH 57, BOSTON COLLEGE 54

Utah scoring star Kim Smith had one of the toughest shooting nights of her career, but the Utes (27-6) still beat Boston College to advance to their first regional final.

Boston College (21-12) had three late chances to force overtime but Brooke Queenan, who led the eighth-seeded Eagles with 21 points, missed two 3-pointers and Kindyll Dorsey another in the final 17 seconds.

Smith scored just seven points - only the second time this season she has failed to break double-figures.
